The Scottish Highlands

More views of The Highlands from where we stayed at Glen Shiel Forest car park. It looks idyllic BUT we had our first encounter with the famous 'midgie plague'. We had been told the insects were terrible in Scotland but we hadn't encountered any until now. We packed up our chairs and table and jumped back in the van. We were sitting outside enjoying ourselves one minute then within seconds they seemed to come out of nowhere! Luckily it was 7pm and we had just finished dinner.
